Baking things for our anniversary picnic :)

Well here is my time to be soppy ;)
Tommorow will be a year to the day that my gorgeous boyfriend and I went on our first date, and in my eyes got properly together, because I knew from that first date I didnt want anyone else :D

So I told all the scummy boys who were hanging around me where to go, and Alex and I carried on dating (which was a lovely change, actual proper dates! I wasn't used to them with the horrible boys I'd known before) and slowly but surely got to where we are today :)

This is one of the first pictures taken of us, because this night, last year, was the night he asked me out. We were at our lovely friend Krissie's 21st birthday party and in case you couldnt guess, it was fancy dress ;)

I was Jessica Rabbit and Alex was one of many smurfs!

Our Aims came asLady Gaga (make up by moi) and my beautiful sister came as a 1920's flapper :D

This dress was handmade my me and my mum, we stuck on every sequin by hand!

So, we are celebrating the day by re-creating our first date, a stroll down Bridlington beach :)
So, I have spent the full day baking all sorts of yummy treats to have at a picnic were planning (good old British weather permitting!)

Some heart shaped brownies covered in edible gold glitter!

Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Cupcakes!

And the mess that it left ;)

Here is a photo album I got him, with all the photographs from our first year!

Instead of buying a card, I thought I would make one! I always said I would paint or draw something for Alex thats really cool, but apart from daft doodles never got round to it.

But heres a painting of us two :) its the front of the card.

A nice little letter that I wrote him, sealed in wax!

Of course Angel was by my side allll day wagging her tail and hoping for a bit of sponge or chocolate!

My mums famous Ginger Parkin recipe was used to make this...yummmmmmmmmmm

Cupcakes before they were iced! (these photos load in a daft way, all back to front!)
Ginger Parkin in the silicone baking tray.

Brownie !

the chocolate when I poured it into the whipped eggs!

Cool patterns eh? :D

So hopefully, tommorow will be ace :)
Well done to everyone who got their A level results yesterday by the way or today, I remember being nervous!

Inspiration/concept sketches :)

Hi everyonee :)
So these are some sketches I've done for my Millenium Bottle film idea (which I'm thinking of a proper name for...I'm thinking '99 Forever... what do you think?)
If you have no idea what I'm on about, read this previous post :)http://goldielocksandcupid.blogspot.com/2010/07/dazed-and-confusedhelp.html
Anyway the scans are a bit dodgy, dont know why!
But here you go :)
The image above is the girl (Lilly) capturing all of 1999 in a bottle :D

Lilly in a tent she has built in her bedroom :)

Lilly

Lilly's cool kickass sister Jessica :) I'm thinking Nineties grunger for her, flannel shirts, big boots, messy hair and an obsession with Courtney Love! :D

This is a mini balloon invitation! how cool! From the lovely Shannon's great blog,http://shannoneileenblog.typepad.com/ - I'd definitely reccommend her, she's always got the most amazing pictures! I'm forever looking at them and chasing my poor Mother round the house with my laptop going Mum look at this! Look at this its so cool!

Not quite sure where this is from....could be http://thedrifterandthegypsy.blogspot.com/? I have a really bad habit of just saving as cool pictures, and never remembering to jot down the sources!

Think I'll so some sea swimming when we go back to Lagos, this time avec The Gang :D

This is a painting by Danny Roberts (my new favourite artist) from http://igorandandre.blogspot.com/, he's so unbelievably talented! Also I think it looked like myself and a certain handsome chap I know called Alex :p

Havent got a clue where this is from - sorry! But she makes a coathanger in her hair look good! Wow :)

Aussies! I need your help! (please :D)

First of all, hello everyone. Not just Australian people. But a bigger hello to Australian people :)

I need your help! (if at all possible!)

As some of you may or may not know I am on a Film and Television Design course at University. When I go back in September, I have to write my dissertation - eeek!

Which I am very worried about by the way haha :P

Its about Baz Luhrmann, and Aussie I love just slightly more than I adore my beloved Kylie :)

And because its Australian cinema I'm trying to find other examples of Australian films that have similar themes to his film. His last film, Australia, had themes of rascism, and I have found another Australian film that carries those themes as well, called September.

So, I'd really love to watch this film, September. It was released in 2007, stars Xavier Samuel, and was directed by Peter Carstairs.

The only problem is I cannot find it anywhere.

I've searched online movie sites. I've searched torrent sites. I've searched youtube. I've looked everywhere I can think of and I cant find it. Its well over £30 on ebay etc and I cant afford that, and the DVD is only viewable on Australian DVD players :(

Do any of you know anywhere thats cheap that you could get it from over there? Or an Australian site I could watch it from? Its not just for my dissertation, I actually genuinely want to watch this film because its won film festival awards too and has got good write ups.

I know its a bit of a shot in the dark, but I'm relying on your help!

Anyone from anywhere else too, if you know anything else about it please help too! :)

Any help or advice you could give me would be soooo appreciated, you have no idea how grateful I would be!!!!

:)

Grannies Parlour, BlogLovin, and Suitcase of Mysteries

Hello everyone! Sorry its been a while since my last post, iI've been working through the week now as well as weekends trying to save for driving lessons! So I havent been abl to do as much as I havent done as much as I would have wanted, but I thought I'd have a Sunday catch up :)
Thought I'd share a few of these images with you... This suitcase was bought with a voucher I got for my birthday for a place called Grannies Parlour which is a really cool antique-y place. Shona and I spent about an hour in there!
Its perfect to fill with all sorts of bits and bobs, and I'm thinking of using it in my film next year, to be stuffed with childrens fancy dress things :) just something to be in the set of her bedroom :)

I'm also now on the search for the perfect bottle to use in my film. Now remember, this bottle has to be able to capture 1999, and keep it nice and secure and tight - it CANNOT let the Millenium in ;) Now I have the bottle that I originally used when I was 9, but I just can't bring myself to use it in the actual film - because that would mean I'd have to uncork it! Which I can obviously never do, or I'd never have my piece of '99 ever again, it'd float away... ;)

So which bottle to use?

I like this one, its a bit unusual...but not really like the ones I used to play with as a kid...

Its a bit too grown up!

I suppose I like this one...hmm...might have to do a search on ebay or something...anyone know where I could get some cool coloured glass bottles from?
have you got any cool bottles of your own you could take a snap of and I could take a peek? Perfume bottles, anything :)

The one I used was purple like this one...but the jewelly type fastener isnt particularly strong...not good enough to capture the 20th century I'm afraid ;)

Hmmm I shall have to keep looking...
Anyway heres some more of the little gems I found at Grannies Parlour..

Its not that i really love looking at pictures of naked women or anything ;) I just think this was such a pretty picture, I thought she looked like those classic Greek nude statues!

What a BABE this woman was... don't you wish glamour was the norm again like it was back then? :D

How gorgeous are this on screen couple from the 20's?

I think they beat Brad and Angelina anyday ;)

Heres a little vintage magnifying glass necklace I got from that Antique market I was raving about in my last post, I dont even care about the missing pearls, it was only 2 quid and so cute!

More of the beloved suitcase :D

Apparantly its from the 1940's used by a child to carry their belongings when evacuated...I wonder what treasures they packed in there?
Some more snaps of that Antique fair..

How amazing is this teacup!!??? I love it!!
I spent ages rifling through this box of old photos

One of my favourite things...shells!

Toy forks for make believe tea partys :)

More shells :)
How cool is this spinning wheel? It from the 18th century, I just cant believe things are still around from that long ago! It made me think of Rumpelstiltskin, spinning all that straw into gold :)

A pretty painting :)
Now I am not a fan of guns in the slightest I think theyre horrid, but I cant tell you how tiny these were, I think they were made for women to pop in their handbags, they were just so small!

Aaaaanyway, I am now (finally) on BlogLovin' (I know I know I'm waaay behind on the times haha) so if you want to follow me on there you can do :)
What everyone been up to this weekend? I saw Toy Story 3 yesterday at the cinemas and yes, I cried ;)
